28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
A life lived by faith embraces rest.
Read Matt 11:28-30 and Phil 4:11-13. Consider these two verses. Jesus promises that following him is easy and light – producing freedom in our lives. Paul tells us that he has experienced the powerful truth that whatever happens in our life, Christ can provide contentment. Even when following Christ brings us into difficult situations or hard work, he will give strength.
When we actively spend time with the Lord, sometimes wants to relieve our burdens and stress. Other times he brings godly insight. Other times he gives strength to work harder and solve it. When we are connected to him, we can live by the power of God.
Today’s challenge is to make a plan to actively rest in the Lord as a part of your regular life rhythm.
Implement a rhythm of rest that is achievable.
