Refocus

This weekend Pastor Ryan encouraged us to take some time to reflect back on the last twelve months of our life. As we reflect, we want to take time to capture and journal about the things we spent our time doing over the course of 2017. John 10:10 talks about the abundant life; this kind of life is available to all of us, and it is something that God invites us to join into with him. This does not happen by accident, but we enter into it as we continue to submit our lives to God’s leading and his way of thinking.Ryan challenged us to make a habit of reflecting on this past year, and in doing so thank God for the ways that he worked in our lives, and then ask for his leading in 2018.

So This is Christmas

String the lights, deck the halls, bring on the snow (at least for Christmas Day). The fun of the holiday season also brings the things we want most to the forefront. And we want simple things: for our relationships to work, things to go our way, everyone to get along – in a word, happiness.

But as we all know, our interactions with each other during the holidays don’t always turn out the way we envision them.

So This Is Christmas is a series offering a practical perspective on inviting Jesus into every moment of our Christmas season. See how his presence can change us and the dynamics of the situations we find ourselves in.

Live Differently

You may have heard about having a relationship with God or following Jesus. But how does it actually work for humans to interact with a God who is a spiritual being?

When we do life with God in real time, and interact with him as a personal friend instead of an impersonal force, it causes us to live differently. Our outlook on life and our priorities change dramatically.

In this series, Live Differently, we’ll get a clear picture of the tools God gives us to interact with him and what it means to live with God every day.

Love Differently

In this series, Love Differently, we’ll learn more about how loving God means loving people. We’ll discuss how God works in our lives to prepare us to impact our world by giving our lives away.

When it comes to love, nothing is quite as intriguing as the motivation and style of love derived from God. Jesus showed us this radical and life-saving love through giving His own life away.

As we recognize that Jesus’ radical love is directed towards us, it changes our outlook, lifestyle, and even who we love. We begin to love differently.

See Differently

It’s funny how a small shift in thinking can change everything. Is the party super awkward, or is it a chance to meet someone new? Is this a problem, or an opportunity for a timely solution?

Shifting our perspective in life can create progress. It’s the same with our spiritual outlook. When we’re able to see God for who he really is, it might be surprising how we begin to interact with him in a different way. How might a different understanding of God change our perspective on life and even our everyday interactions?

Join us for the series, See Differently, as we investigate why someone who follows Jesus would see the world the way they do, and how seeing the world differently shapes their lives.

The Good Kind Of Weird

The “good kind of weird” can mean that we’re quirky, not quite on trend, and maybe even proud of it. It’s the kind of weird that makes someone say, “I’ve never seen kindness like that!” or, “I just met this person and they picked up my tab!”

Jesus’ life could definitely be described by the good kind of weird. Wherever he went, his radical love and revolutionary humility turned people’s heads. What if our lives could start to look a little more like that?

In this series, Good Kind of Weird, we’ll explore what it means to follow Jesus day-to-day and how that can make us seem “weird-in-a-good-way” as it transforms our lives.

What To Do When You Don’t Know What To Do

“Life noun \ˈlīf\ the period from birth to death.”

The dictionary makes it sound so simple—like there aren’t a million decisions we make every day that shape the course of our lives.

Some of those decisions are made without a second thought. Where should I eat lunch? And some decisions are weightier. What career should I choose? Who should I marry? What is my life about? It’s in the midst of these bigger decisions that we often run into confusion and find ourselves asking, How can I know I’m making the best decision?

In our series What To Do When You Don’t Know What To Do, we’ll dig into the Bible to find God’s thoughts about our decision-making and have confidence we’re taking the right path.
